General Employment CEO Retires

General Employment Enterprises Inc. (NYSE MKT: JOB) Chairman and CEO Salvatore Zizza retired effective Dec. 26, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The board appointed Michael Schroering as chairman and CEO.

Schroering owns 74 percent of outstanding shares in General Employment and has served on the board since Nov. 26, according to the filing. Schroering is also founder and president of The Schroering Company, a Louisville-based commercial real estate firm. In addition, he is the managing member of Global Port United LLC, which owns and manages several business parks in the Louisville area.

Zizza has served as CEO since December 2009.

General Employment recently switched auditors after an incident where the firm was defrauded of money, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. For the original story, click here.
