First Tek, a provider of information technology staffing services, acquired the assets of Emtec’s staffing business unit. First Tek is based in Piscataway, N.J., according to an announcement today. The deal took effect Jan. 17.

“For Emtec, this represents the next step in our realignment strategy, which was announced in October,” said Sunil Misra, president and COO, “with focused business units providing first class consulting and managed services, in the areas of packaged applications; cloud applications; application development, maintenance and support services; and infrastructure services.”
