Creative salaries rise in Canada

Salaries are increasing in Canada’s communication design sector and creative professionals have a positive outlook, according to the bi-annual 2013 CreativeEarners Survey produced by the Association of Registered Graphic Designers in conjunction with creative staffing firm Creative Niche.

Average salaries for senior graphic designers increased to C$55,000 in 2012 from C$50,000 in 2008. Indicative of the move to greater digital integration, online specialists reported the steepest wage increases with average salaries growing to C$64,500, up from C$52,500 in 2008.The survey polled 2,890 Canadian professionals who reported an average of 11.2 years working in creative communications.
