Staffing Industry Analysts Inc. was acquired Monday by Crain Communications Inc., one of the largest privately held publishers in the U.S., with operations in North America, Europe and Asia.

"We're excited because this gives us more resources to draw on to serve our clients, and because we're joining a company that has the same commitment to independence, objectivity and quality that we've always had," said Ron Mester, president and CEO of Staffing Industry Analysts for the past seven years.

"For almost 20 years, Staffing Industry Analysts has been serving staffing companies and more recently large corporations who buy contingent labor with research, data and events," said Rance Crain, president of Crain Communications. "Their leading role in the marketplace as the acknowledged expert and voice of independence makes Staffing Industry Analysts an exciting addition to Crain."

Staffing Industry Analysts will continue to operate under the same name, and all of its employees and management will remain with the exception of Chairman Peter Yessne. It will still be located in Los Altos CA.

Mester emphasized that "our focus on the contingent workforce and the staffing industry has not changed. And we will continue delivering the proprietary research, data, support tools, publications, and executive conferences that our clients rely on."
