Command Center revenue jumps 54%

August 09, 2010

Second-quarter revenue rose 53.6% at Command Center Inc. (OTCBB: CCNI.OB) to $19.0 million from $12.4 million in the year-ago quarter.

Gross margin at the Post Falls ID-based industrial staffing firm rose to 26.7% in the second quarter from 23.3% in the same period last year.

Command Center posted net income of $336,123 (which included a noncash charge of $726,906 related to a change in fair value of warrant liability) compared with a net loss of $1.5 million in the second quarter of last year.

CEO Glenn Welstad said cost containment and expansion into new business areas, including event services and disaster relief, helped propel earnings. Clean-up activities in response to the oil spill on the gulf coast had a "definite positive impact" on second-quarter results, Welstad said.
