Catapult Staffing — an IT, engineering and finance staffing company — acquired Chicago-based firms OnPoint Partners Inc. and 180North from founder and CEO Eric Baranchik. 180North provides interim staffing while OnPoint Partners provides direct-hire services.

The transaction closed Aug. 3; terms were not disclosed.

Both firms will merge to the Catapult Staffing brand, extending its footprint into the Chicago market. The executives from the firms will remain; Baranchik takes the title of managing partner.
