Careerbuilder: U.S. Workers Report Weight Gain on the Job

June 06, 2012

Forty-four percent of U.S. workers said they have gained weight at their current job, while 16 percent said they lost weight, according to a survey released by CareerBuilder.

Occupations that had a higher incidence of workers reporting weight gain included travel agents, attorneys/judges, teachers and physicians.

More than half of workers (54 percent) attributed their weight gain to sitting at their desk for most of the day. Stress (37 percent) and eating out regularly (23 percent) were the other top responses.

The CareerBuilder survey was conducted by Harris Interactive and included 5,772 U.S. workers between Feb. 9 and March 2.
