Calian Technologies Ltd. (TSX: CTY) today reported revenue rose 4.8 percent to C$55.4 million (US$55.7 million) in its fiscal fourth quarter ended Sept. 30 from C$52.9 million in the fourth quarter of the previous year.
Based in Ottawa, Calian provides information technology, engineering and healthcare staffing and solutions. Fourth-quarter revenue in its business and technology services division, which includes staffing and services, rose 3.6 percent year over year to C$38.6 million (US$37.4 million).
Fourth-quarter gross margin rose to 19.8 percent from 19.6 percent in the year-ago quarter. Net earnings rose 5.3 percent to C$1.5 million (U$1.4 million).
Full-year revenue at Calian rose 5.1 percent to C$226.7 million (US$219.4 million). Full-year gross margin narrowed to 18.9 percent from 19.8 percent.
Net earnings for the full year fell 11.2 percent to C$5.1 million (US$4.9 million).
