CDI subsidiary acquires recruitment business line in UK

October 09, 2015

CDI Corp. (NYSE: CDI), an engineering and IT staffing firm headquartered in Philadelphia, announced its UK subsidiary, CDI AndersElite, acquired the recruitment business of London-based Ship Shape Resources.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition is expected to be immediately accretive to CDI’s earnings but not material to the company's financial performance.

“We have a long and well established reputation for providing the construction, civil engineering and rail sectors with high quality recruitment services,” said Simon Trippick, VP of CDI International and managing director of CDI AndersElite. “The addition of Ship Shape’s six-person recruitment team, client relationships, and contractor database will enhance our expertise in the construction market. We also look forward to providing CDI AndersElite skilled contract and permanent staffing solutions to Ship Shape’s clients in the residential construction sector.”

“CDI AndersElite is the right partner for our recruitment organization,” said Ship Shape CEO Howard Hughes. “This transaction ensures a smooth transition for our clients and contractors as we increase our focus on our core payroll activities and technology consulting services to the recruitment and construction industries.”

The deal follows CDI’s announcement this week that it acquired EdgeRock Technologies LLC, a privately held, specialist IT staffing firm headquartered in Boston.

CDI ranks No. 20 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of largest staffing firms in the US. It also ranks No. 6 on the list of largest US engineering staffing providers, and No. 18 on the list of largest US providers of IT staffing.
