Bear Staffing, headquartered in Woodbury, NJ, acquired northeast Pennsylvania staffing provider Action Personnel Services.

The transaction closed Nov. 16; terms were not disclosed.

The Action Personnel brand remains, but the firm’s executives retired and Bear management is in place. The company generates $3.5 million in revenue from its two offices: Dickson City and Wilkes Barre, Penn.

“This opportunity fit not only our geographical expansion plans, but was an opportunity to expand on an already great reputation in Lackawanna and Luzerne counties,” said Bear President and CEO Sherri Johnson.

The acquisition continues Bear Staffing’s expansion in the Northeast Pennsylvania market and upstate New York. 

“We will continue to pursue those opportunities that will enhance our value to our rapidly expanding national client base,” said COO and Executive VP Gary Johnson. “We believe in the American worker and in American manufacturing, and we are willing to invest in that future.”

Bear Staffing counts $13 million in revenue and five offices. It targets high-volume industries and skill sets including manufacturing, logistics, technical and contact centers.
