Barrett Business Services Inc. (NASD: BBSI) reported net income of $6.3 million for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, an improvement of 12.9% over net income of $5.6 million for the third quarter of 2006. Revenue for the third quarter totaled $82.9 million, up 19.5% over the $69.4 million for the same quarter in 2006.

Revenue from the company's staffing services was up 31.1% to $43.9 million from $33.5 million in the comparable 2006 quarter. Fees from its professional employer services were up 8.6% at $38.9 million from $35.9 million.
