American Staffing Association index is flat

April 30, 2008

The American Staffing Association's (ASA) index measuring temporary employment was at 100 in April, unchanged from March. The ASA said demand for staffing employees has been relatively flat since mid-January.

The index measures changes in the number of temporary and contract employees both weekly and monthly. The monthly change is calculated using data from the week that includes the 12th day of the month. Its baseline value of 100 was set in June 2006.
