American Staffing Association index falls

January 30, 2008

The American Staffing Association's index measuring temporary employment was at 99 in January, down from 108 in December. The decline follows the holidays and January is also, typically, the slowest month for staffing, according to the organization.

The index measures changes in the number of temporary and contract employees both weekly and monthly. The monthly change is calculated using data form the week that includes the 12th day of the month.
