The U.S. Department of Commerce lowered its estimate of growth in U.S. real gross domestic product in the third quarter to an annual rate of 2.2%, down from a previous estimate of 2.8%.
MarketWatch reported that economists expected a revision down to 2.7%.
Real GDP fell 0.7% in the second quarter and declined 6.4% in the first.
