Online job ads seeking professionals with e-commerce skills rose 31 percent in July compared to the same month last year and were up 50 percent compared to two years ago, according to Wanted Analytics, a firm that tracks online job ads. Overall, there were 25,000 online job ads in July for professionals with e-commerce skills.

Among the most commonly advertised jobs titles required an e-commerce background are Java developer, web developer, project manager, business analyst, software engineer, .Net Developer, web designer and marketing director.

E-commerce professionals were most frequently recruited for jobs located in New York City. Other metropolitan areas with high demand for these skills were Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and Seattle.
