Final estimate - First-quarter GDP fell 5.5%

Real gross domestic product in the U.S. decreased at an annual rate of 5.5% in the first quarter, according to a final estimate by the U.S. Department of Commerce. The decline was down from a previous estimate of 5.7%. Real GDP decreased by 6.3% in the fourth quarter.
