The Planet Group acquires two firms; combines tech consulting companies under one brand

The Planet Group, a Chicago-based staffing firm, announced two acquisitions and also unified its technology consulting companies under the Strive Consulting brand.

Launch Consulting Group

The Planet Group announced the acquisition of Launch Consulting Group, a Seattle-based provider of professional expertise and recruiting services.

Founded in 2005, Launch Consulting is led by CEO Heinrich Montana. It has more than 600 team members and offices across the US as well as in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Hyderabad, India.

Plans call for Launch Consulting to join forces with The Planet Group’s Strive Consulting, which specializes in data and analytics, technology enablement, cybersecurity and compliance, and management consulting.

Future State Consulting

The Planet Group acquired Future State Consulting, a Tigard, Oregon-based IT staffing and consulting provider. The acquisition will enable The Planet Group to expand its current technology portfolio through niche consulting services.

“Future State Consulting is a natural partner for us. Their industry-leading capabilities in digital transformation are an important step forward in Planet’s technology consulting growth plan,” said Tim Simmerly, president of The Planet Group.

Future State Consulting was founded in 2012 by Dann Black and Harrison Bishop.

As part of the deal, Future State Consulting will join forces with Planet Group’s Strive Consulting and Launch Consulting Group, which specialize in digital transformation, digital strategy, data and analytics, technology enablement, cybersecurity and compliance and management consulting.

Unifying tech brands

The Planet Group has unified its technology consulting companies under the Strive Consulting brand. This means The Planet Groups’ Rokster business line will now operate under the Strive brand. Rokster specializes in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, blockchain and business intelligence.

“By combining Strive and Rokster, we are bringing world-class leaders together and will be better positioned to support our clients’ challenges and growing cybersecurity and technology needs across all end markets,” said Tim Simmerly, president of The Planet Group.

The Planet Group, a portfolio company of Odyssey Investment Partners, acquired the Strive operations in December 2021.
