Company says it is first staffing firm to launch in the metaverse

Unique, a Netherlands-based staffing firm and part of RGF Staffing, a subsidiary of Japanese staffing giant Recruit, announced that it has launched a staffing firm in the Metaverse called Uniqueverse.

Uniqueverse claims to be the first staffing firm in the Metaverse.

In its description, the group states, “With Uniqueverse, the first employment agency with a branch in the metaverse, we are responding to the job applications of the future. Discover virtual worlds in the anonymity of an avatar, map out your talent and competencies in an interactive way and get in touch with our recruiters.”

The metaverse is a collective virtual shared space combining aspects of virtual reality, augmented reality, social media and online gaming.

Metaverse, according to TechTarget, became a household word when Facebook rebranded its corporate identity to Meta in October 2021 and announced plans to invest at least USD 10 billion in the concept that year.

In a recent sponsored post on SIA, Naveen Kumar Pathak, domain consultant and lead, Staffing and Recruitment Centre of Excellence, TCS, says the staffing industry will be affected by the metaverse, “especially given the changes happening to the nature of work, and the workforce itself, two key pillars of this industry.”

Meanwhile, recent research from developer marketplace platform Deazy showed that just one quarter of chief technology officers in the UK have launched a metaverse project in 2022.
