Next Move Healthcare buys specialty surgical staffing firm

Next Move Healthcare, a Kansas City-based clinical talent and travel nurse staffing provider, acquired Prime Surgical Associates, a specialty surgical staffing firm based in Kansas City that provides trained surgical assistants to surgeons.

“The acquisition of Prime Surgical Associates helps to strengthen our position in surgical specialties, which continue to be crucial to hospitals’ financial stability,” said John Nolan, CEO of Next Move Healthcare. “We are beyond excited about this next chapter in our growth story. Prime Surgical Associates’ founders are people we truly enjoy working with, and we look forward to incorporating their expertise into our business strategy so we can support clinical partners with the skilled staff they need to accommodate surging patient demand.”

The acquisition of Prime Surgical Associates will bring Next Move Healthcare into the perioperative and surgical staffing space as demand for skilled healthcare workers becomes stronger.

Prime Surgical Associates will continue to operate independently under its current name as a wholly owned subsidiary of Next Move Healthcare, supporting hospitals and physician groups through its perioperative staffing solutions.

“Next Move Healthcare is a dynamic leader in the staffing space, and our values are incredibly well aligned,” said Ty Taylor, founder of Prime Surgical Associates. “We have been proud to support our provider clients with first-rate surgical staff as they contend with a surge in demand for surgical procedures and address a backlog of elective procedures amid a severe talent shortage.”
