AMN closes Stratus Video deal, expands service offerings

AMN Healthcare Inc. (NYSE: AMN) announced that it has completed its acquisition of Stratus Video Holding Co. for $475 million, according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Final regulatory approvals were received.

The acquisition was previously announced Jan. 30. Straus Video, based in Clearwater, Florida, provides video-based language interpretation services for the healthcare industry. The deal included the purchase of all outstanding shares in Stratus.

“Qualified healthcare interpretation, which is mandated by federal and state regulations, is a service that many healthcare organizations do not have the resources to provide for themselves,” CEO Susan Salka said in an investor conference call last week. “This acquisition helps further AMN's ability to deliver quality, compassionate patient care, and to increase efficiency.”

Also last month, San Diego-based AMN reported revenue of $2.22 billion for 2019, a year-over-year increase of 4.0%.
