GHR Healthcare acquires HCTec’s healthcare information management division

Houston based GHR Healthcare, the parent organization to a family of healthcare and community-based staffing companies, acquired the health information management division of HCTec.

Focusing on coding, clinical documentation improvement and case management, the new entity, headquartered in Tampa, Florida, will now operate as GHR RevCycle Workforce and provide personnel nationwide.

The acquisition, which closed Dec. 31, does not affect the HCTec HIT consulting or application managed services teams. Terms were not disclosed.

Barry Matthews, current manager of the group, will continue to lead GHR RevCycle Workforce as vice president.

The deal is a strategic fit for all involved, according to Joe Kaplan, GHR Healthcare board chairman. “We are able to add an experienced, successful company to our group and, at the same time, expand our scope of support as a family,” he said. “This acquisition complements our existing lines of business, allowing us to offer a broader range of workforce solutions to all clients.”
