Executive search firm ZRG Partners Inc. agreed to acquire certain assets of Chicago-based McLean Consulting, a boutique search firm that targets the life sciences sector.

The transaction closed Sept. 9; terms were not disclosed.

McLean Consulting will transition to the ZRG brand over time. As part of the agreement, John McLean will join ZRG Partners as a managing director in the firm’s global life sciences practice.

McLean has 14 years of executive search experience with strong expertise in medical devices, diagnostics, pharmaceuticals and healthcare services. Before founding McLean Consulting, he was managing partner at Witt/Kieffer and executive VP at DHR International Inc. McLean has also held leadership roles at Hewitt Associates, American Hospital Supply Corp. and Johnson & Johnson.

ZRG’s global headquarters is in Rochelle Park, NJ. The multi-practice global search firm targeted sectors include life sciences, industrial, financial services, consumer, private equity and technology.
