Executive search firm ZRG Partners Inc. acquired assets of boutique firm Dowd Associates, an executive search firm that recruits senior-level financial professionals.  

As part of the asset purchase agreement, President and CEO Richard Dowd will join ZRG as a managing director. In addition to treasury search, Dowd has experience in vice president of finance, controller and CFO search work. He will be a member of ZRG’s financial officer practice.

Dowd Associates is headquartered in White Plains, New York. The brand will not remain; its associates now fall in under the ZRG umbrella.

The transaction closed April 15; terms were not disclosed.

“With Richard on board, we now have additional specialty expertise to support our clients,” ZRG CEO Larry Hartmann said. “We have an experienced team already focused on the CFO function and adding Richard allows us to not only recruit CFOs but help them be more successful by attracting the right talent in this critical function.”

ZRG is based in Rochelle Park, NJ. The multi-practice global search firm targets sectors include life sciences, industrial, financial services, consumer, private equity and technology. In December, ZRG completed a recapitalization with RFE Investment Partners, a lower middle-market private equity firm.
