World Employment Confederation names new board members

December 18, 2023

The World Employment Confederation, the global body representing the staffing industry, announced new board members, a new corporate member from China and other changes as the year comes to an end.

Among the announcements:

  • Four members will join its board for the first time: Caroline Pfeiffer, representing ManpowerGroup; Jurriën Koops, representing ABU from the Netherlands; and Andrea Resigkeit (GVP / Germany) and Mohamed El Derwy (Target HR/Egypt) as regular board members.
  • The organization noted its members endorsed the membership application of Engma, the first-ever Chinese company to join the WEC as a corporate member, adding Nichole Zhu, director for government and public relations, as the company representative on WEC’s board.
  • The WEC also announced that Kelly’s membership status changed following the sale of its European staffing activities to Gi Group Holding. The US-based company now stands as a global managed service provider pure player; Pam Sands will take a different mandate and become the chair of the corporate members’ committee. Meanwhile, Geraldine King of Employment & Recruitment Federation Ireland received a renewal of her appointment as chair of the national federations committee, while Alfred Budschitz of Agest, Chile, was also reelected as a regular board member.
  • The WEC backed the change in the national federation representing Germany, as the GVP (the Gesamtverband der Personaldienstleister) was formed following the merger of BAP and iGZ, the two associations representing staffing companies in the country.
