Workers could pay thousands to leave jobs (The New York Times Magazine)

November 20, 2023

Agreements that require employees to repay employers for training if they leave before a set period of time are becoming more common, The New York Times Magazine reported. In one instance, a contingent nurse was warned that he could owe $20,000 or more if he left before the end of a three-year contract.
