Webinar reveals reasons Convention 181 is slow to be ratified (WEC)

May 31, 2023

The World Employment Confederation, the organization representing the staffing industry globally, discussed in a post Monday some of the challenges holding up the ratification of “Convention 181” in Latin America. Convention 181 is an international labor standard that establishes a “comprehensive framework for the registration, licensing and effective regulation of private employment agencies and the protection of workers that use their services,” according to the International Labour Organization. The WEC noted that 38 countries have ratified Convention 181, but the goal is for 45 countries to ratify it by 2025.
