Utah posts lowest jobless rate among all states in November

Utah posted the lowest jobless rate among all US states in November at 2.2%, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. The next-lowest rates were in Minnesota and North Dakota at 2.3% each.

The District of Columbia posted its lowest jobless rate since 1976 at 4.6%.

Meanwhile, Nevada had the highest jobless rate in November at 4.9%. The next-highest rate was in Illinois at 4.7%.

The state with the largest year-over-year decrease in jobless rate in November was New Mexico, down 1.9 percentage points. The next-largest decreases occurred in California and New Jersey, dropping 1.7 percentage points each.

Oklahoma posted the largest year-over-year jobless rate increase in November at 0.6 percentage points.
