The number of US job openings was little changed on the last day of November from the previous month, according to the latest numbers released today by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. The number of hires was also little changed in November.

Bloomberg reported US job openings unexpectedly fell in November to a six-month low, though the level is still consistent with an improving labor market. Even with the decline in November, the number of openings remains elevated, showing a high level of untapped demand for labor, as employers struggle to find skilled and experienced workers.
