US initial jobless claims drop 18,000, but data includes revisions to seasonal adjustments

US initial jobless claims fell by 18,000 in the week ended April 1 to a total of 228,000, according to seasonally adjusted data released by the US Department of Labor reported. Today’s jobless claims number include revisions to seasonal adjustment factors.

Reuters reported the picture of the labor market remained unclear because of the revisions.

Meanwhile, the four-week moving average of claims fell by 4,250 in the week ended April 1 to a level of 237,750.
