The New Democratic Party of Newfoundland and Labrador raised concerns about spending on travel nurses. It notes the Canadian province would spend C$18.4 million over 12 months on travel nurses compared with C$4.1 million for employing nurses already in the system, CBC News reported. However, Health Minister Tom Osborne said travel nurses are a “necessary evil” at the moment.
