TotalMed acquires Valley Healthcare

November 15, 2017

TotalMed, a nationwide clinical travel solutions and MSP services provider, announced Tuesday it acquired Valley Healthcare Staffing Inc. of Sacramento, Calif. The acquisition brings applicant tracking system and customer relationship management solutions as well as automated marketing and recruitment engines to TotalMed’s offerings.

The transaction closed Oct. 31; terms were not disclosed.

“We are now realistically positioned to be the largest provider of contingent labor to clinical care providers within the next two years,” TotalMed CEO Sejal Shah said. “Our goal used to be taking market share, and this new partnership now enables us to create a new market place.”

Steve Swan, Valley Healthcare’s CEO, will transition to the CTO role at TotalMed.

Valley Healthcare Staffing has been in business for 15 years and places traveling nurses, technicians and other medical personnel in temporary jobs. And for the past three years, it has been building ValleyForce, a marketing and recruitment automation engine that mechanizes the matching, marketing, submission and onboarding of clinicians. ValleyForce also provides custom-built back-office management tools for accounting and finance to include time and attendance, payroll, billing and accounts receivable.

Valley Healthcare was listed by Staffing Industry Analysts as one of the Best Staffing Firms to Work For in 2017.

TotalMed is headquartered in Appleton, Wis., with satellite offices in Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis and Pinehurst, NC. It staffs facilities in every state through a range of divisions and averaged 50% year-over-year growth in each of the past 10 years. TotalMed counts more than 150 internal staff and gains about 30 more from Valley Healthcare.
