Administrative Professionals Day is today, according to card company Hallmark. The day celebrates the work of secretaries, administrative assistants and other office professionals.

And this week, April 24 to April 30 is Administrative Professionals Week. The week is informally recognized, but Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe did issue a proclamation recognizing Administrative Professionals Week in 2016.

Office/clerical was one of the earliest segments of staffing. Staffing Industry Analysts forecasts the US office/clerical staffing segment will have revenue of $18.7 billion in 2016.
