Thumbtack names former Google exec to leadership team

March 30, 2017

Human cloud firm Thumbtack appointed Justin Angsuwat as its new VP of people, effective immediately. He joins the online staffing platform from Google, where he was a member of the people operations leadership team, most recently as the head of human resources at Google for its go-to-market functions.

Angsuwat will oversee all people operations, including recruiting, human resources, office operations, learning and development, and total rewards. He will serve as a member of Thumbtack’s leadership team and report to Thumbtack co-founder and CEO Marco Zappacosta.

“As a growth-stage startup, how we hire, how we meet, how we build teams and share information across the company are all central to our success,” Zappacosta said. “I am confident Justin will ensure the Thumbtack team is well positioned to build a generational company that helps tens of millions of people start and run their own small businesses.”

Thumbtack says it counts more than 250,000 professionals in more than 1,000 categories that collectively generate more than $1 billion in annual business nationwide. Founded in 2009, the San Francisco-based platform is backed by Sequoia Capital, Google Capital, Tiger Global Management, Javelin Investment Partners and Baillie Gifford.
