A jury ordered automaker Tesla to pay more than $3 million in a racial discrimination lawsuit brought by a former contingent worker at a Tesla factory in Fremont, California, CNN reported. A different jury in 2021 had awarded Owen Diaz — who worked through a staffing firm — $136.9 million, but a judge had rejected that amount as being excessive. A $15 million offer was rejected, and the case then went back to trial.
