May 09, 2023

Temporary staffing hours worked in the US fell 10% year over year in the week ended April 29, according to the latest SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator report released today.

Commercial staffing hours fell 12% year over year, while professional staffing hours fell 4%.

“The trend of decreasing hours worked is directionally consistent with the decline in temporary help employment as reported in the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ monthly Employment Situation reports (the May US jobs report was published on May 5th),” according to the indicator report. “Temporary employment services employment has fallen each of the past three months and is now 35,200 below its December 2022 level.”
