TemPositions Logistics acquires Access Staffing’s light industrial division

March 19, 2018

Industrial staffing provider TemPositions Logistics, a division of The TemPositions Group of Companies, acquired the assets of the light industrial division of Access Staffing.

“This acquisition expands our capabilities in this segment, allowing us to better service our existing customers,” TemPositions’ President and CEO James Essey said. “In addition, the state-of-the-art systems we have developed internally will bring a higher level of service to the Access Staffing Light Industrial client base.”

The acquired division places approximately 150 employees weekly. It operated out of Access’ Long Island and New York City offices, which remain.

The four internal staff of the Access’ light Industrial division — including Joanathan Neira, Melissa Riquelme and Ana Uribe — will join TemPositions Logistics offices in Melville, NY; Fran Baker headed up the division for Access and is now managing director of TemPositions Logistics.

The transaction closed March 12; terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 1962, The TemPositions Group of Companies counts about 110 internal staff members and provides temporary, contract temp-to-hire and direct hire services. It serves the New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and California markets. It places approximately 2,700 employees weekly and issues 6,500 W-2s annually out of four offices. TemPositions averages one to two acquisitions per year and seeks acquisitions either as fold-ins to existing niches or to enter a new segment.

TemPositions Logistics provides assemblers; driver’s helpers; general laborers; inventory clerks; machine operators; mailroom staff; maintenance workers; picker/packers; shipping and receiving, stock, storeroom and warehouse staff; and other similar workers to the Tri-State area.
