TSR revenue slips amid decline in office/clerical contractors

TSR Inc.’s (NASDAQ: TSRI) revenue fell 16.8% in its fiscal second quarter as the number of office/clerical contractors on assignment fell. The Hauppauge, New York-based staffing provider posted earnings Jan. 11. It had revenue of $21.7 million in the quarter ended Nov. 30, 2023.

“We continue to navigate an uncertain macroeconomic environment, but we are optimistic that revenue and income will grow in the long run,” CEO Thomas Salerno said in a press release.

TSR reported the average number of IT contractors on billing with customers fell to 435 in the second quarter from 471 in the year-ago quarter. However, the average number of office/clerical contractors fell to 84 in the second quarter from 222 in the same quarter in the prior fiscal year.

Net income declined 31.8%.
