A number of states passed or updated laws requiring healthcare staffing firms to obtain registration or licensure, according to a report by attorneys from Kirkland & Ellis that was published by Bloomberg. In 2022 alone, such legislation was enacted in Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Oregon and Pennsylvania.
