Starfish Partners, an investment platform for management search specialists, acquired Innova People, an IT and accounting recruitment firm based in Bend, Oregon, in an all-stock transaction.

The deal expands Starfish’s reach in the healthcare and technology space.

“For so many years now, the team that drives Starfish Partners has been coveted advisors to the businesses that I have built and managed,” Innova CEO Joel Slenning said in a press release. “The opportunity to partner directly with this team, as well as bring a whole new dimension and business offering to Starfish Partners in healthcare staffing, is incredibly exciting and a long time coming.”

The deal closed in November.

“Joel is one of those rare combinations of superior capabilities and production as a search professional while also establishing himself as an extraordinary leader, having built several firms in the industry,” Jeff Kaye, managing director of Starfish Partners, said in a press release.

Other recent acquisitions by Plano, Texas-based Starfish Partners include NinjaJobs and Global People as well as Direct Recruiters Inc.
