Staffy requiring vaccinations for all workers on platform

August 18, 2021

Staffy, a Toronto-based healthcare staffing platform, announced that it is making Covid-19 vaccinations mandatory for all workers on its platform.

“The Covid-19 vaccine is the best line of defense we have against this virus,” said Peter Faist, founder and CEO of Staffy. “As Canada faces an emerging fourth wave, mandatory vaccines are an important step to protect the healthcare organizations and healthcare workers we support, and the patients they care for.”

Staffy has more than 10,000 healthcare workers on its platform.

“We have seen the profound impact of Covid-19 from the frontlines. Our decision to mandate Covid-19 vaccinations for all our workers is a direct response to the devastation we have already witnessed,” Faist said. “The crisis isn’t over yet, and we have to stay vigilant.”

The company originally launched as a platform to connect hospitality businesses to skilled labor. It pivoted at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic to providing healthcare organizations with trained workers such as nurses and personal support workers. It started with a focus on the long-term care sector.

In the US, Staffing 360 Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: STAF) announced last month that it was requiring vaccinations for internal employees.
