Avionté, a provider of front- and back-office software to the staffing industry, acquired San Francisco-based Compas Technology, which provides recruiting and talent management software-as-a-service. The deal brings both firms a broader range of clients across the staffing industry as Avionté primarily targets clerical and light industrial staffing, while Compas focuses on IT and professional staffing.

The transaction closed Sept. 28; terms were not disclosed.

Compas’ SaaS capabilities — including business intelligence, broad sourcing, advanced search, vendor management system support, and enhanced CRM functionality — will be combined into Avionté staffing and recruiting software.

The Compas Technology brand will remain and continue to sell into the IT and professional staffing markets. All Compas executives and employees will remain with the business, with CEO Brian Vesce becoming president of Compas, an Avionté Company.

Last year, Eagan, Minn.-based Avionté acquired TKO Systems & Support, also a provider of front- and back-office staffing software to the staffing industry, as well as Applied Systems Technology, a software development company and creator of Persona Staffing Software.

Avionté, founded in 2005, has more than 17,000 users in nearly 600 staffing companies. With the Compas acquisition, company now counts more than 25,000 users in nearly 900 staffing agencies.
