Engineering consulting and staffing provider Belcan LLC acquired the aerospace and industrial equipment business unit of CDI Corp., a Philadelphia-based provider of IT and engineering staffing. The deal includes certain related aerospace staffing contracts.

The transaction closed Dec. 11; terms were not announced.

AE Industrial Partners LLC — a private equity investor specializing in aerospace, power generation, and specialty industrial companies — acquired CDI in September in a deal valued at $157.5 million. Belcan is also a portfolio company of AE Industrial Partners.

CDI’s aerospace assets provide engineering and recruitment solutions to a range of aerospace platforms, from large commercial aircraft to the military’s rotorcraft, fighter jets, missiles and unmanned systems.

Cincinnati-based Belcan supplies engineering, technical recruiting, and IT services to the aerospace, defense, industrial, and government services markets. It ranks eighth on Staffing Industry Analysts list of the largest engineering staffing firms in the US while CDI ranks fifth.
