Temporary staffing hours worked in the US fell 12% year over year in the week ended July 8 — which included the Independence Day holiday — according to the latest SIA | Bullhorn Staffing Indicator report, released today.

Staffing hours were affected by both the holiday and growing economic uncertainty. Commercial staffing hours were down 12% year over year, while professional staffing hours were down by 11% year over year.

Last year, July 4 was on a Monday; this year, it was on a Tuesday.
