This week is “Staffing for Canada Week,” which runs from June 4 through June 10. It’s the annual week when the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services and its 1,500 member offices recognize the C$15 billion industry’s more than 500,000 employees and two million job seekers placed each year.

“Last year our members, which include established recruiting, executive search and staffing service firms, placed more than 600,000 candidates and generated approximately 80% of the staffing industry’s overall revenue in Canada,” says Mary McIninch, executive director of ACSESS.

The week was first introduced in Edmonton in 1980 as “National Temporaries Week.”
