SIA’s Staffing Tech Summit to help firms get future ready

March 07, 2024

The rapid pace of technological innovation means some staffing firms are at risk of being left behind. To be ready for transformation, SIA’s upcoming event, the Staffing Tech Summit, will highlight the challenges and opportunities presented by the newest technology.

The inaugural event comes as SIA research suggests that smaller staffing firms are being left behind in the race to automate staffing processes. While larger staffing firms (revenue in excess of $100 million) have already automated 64% of their worker processes, the number drops to 55% for medium-sized firms (revenue between $11 million to $100 million) and 46% for smaller staffing firms (revenue below $10 million).

Delegates who attend SIA’s first-ever pop-up event will benefit from the insights of expert technology presenters who will cover tech stack innovation, deployment of best practices and cybersecurity, among many other topics. They will also dive into what it takes to create an environment hospitable to new tech.

Business leaders and tech professionals alike will also receive exclusive insights from SIA’s independent and objective technology research and tools, which will address trends, the vendor landscape and best practices. The event will include peer group networking, an IT self-audit workshop with free IT framework and self-assessment tools as well as the latest vendor updates.

The Staffing Tech Summit, which precedes SIA’s Executive Forum North America, kicks off with a keynote address by John Nurthen, SIA’s executive director of global research, and Kevin O'Neill, SIA’s technology research director. The keynote is titled Innovate to Elevate: Designing a Future-Ready Tech Stack for Agile Staffing in Turbulent Times.

The keynote will highlight research and expert perspectives and will give attendees a jumpstart on best practices for leading the upcoming technological cycle. From assessing current needs to anticipating future technologies, it will also explore the balance between innovation and practicality.

It will also cover the necessity for firms to build solid tech stack foundations so they can leverage maturing solutions using AI in automation. Additionally, the keynote examines removing bottlenecks in areas such as integration and legacy applications and implementing more mobile solutions.

The Staffing Tech Summit continues with sessions including:

  • Improving Efficiency and Driving Quality Speed Supplier Session
  • Guarding Your Future: Cybersecurity and Risk in the Staffing Industry
  • IT Health Check: A Comprehensive Guide to Self-Auditing Your Staffing Firm’s Technology Landscape
  • Unlocking Success: Best Practices in Deploying New Technology in the Staffing Industry

On the latter session, O’Neill said, “The intention is … to give  staffing firms the tools to elevate their chances of successes with new tech projects in a time where these solutions and their correct deployment has never been more important.”

The right choices matter, O’Neill added. “Getting value out of new technology depends both on making the right choices on the tech itself and following it up with an implementation that ensures the tech becomes well embedded in your processes with the overall project delivering on objectives,” he said.
