Robert Half’s Q3 revenue up 2%, flattening seen

Professional staffing firm Robert Half International Inc. (NYSE: RHI) reported revenue rose 2.0% in the third quarter and was up 2.4% on a same billing day, constant currency basis. However, the company reported a flattening revenue growth began in July as well as a trend in client companies taking longer to make hiring decisions

“Now on the pace of deceleration, I would say that July — we actually ended July stronger than we began it,” Chairman and CEO Harold Messmer Jr. said in a conference call with analysts. “We were encouraged by that. August wasn’t bad. But then September, where we usually start getting a sequential lift in September we did not see the lift that we typically get. Instead it was sequentially about flat. And then again, traditionally we get even more lift yet again in October and we did not see that lift either. So it is essentially sequential flattening starting in July rather than the lift that we typically see in September and early October.”

The company forecasts fourth-quarter revenue of $1.25 billion to $1.31 billion.
