Riot Games’ $100 million gender discrimination settlement receives approval (Gameindustry.biz)

A California judge last Friday approved a $100 million gender discrimination settlement with computer game maker Riot Games Inc., Gameindustry.biz reported. Payments will go to more than 1,000 women who have worked full-time at Riot since 2014 as well as more than 1,000 contractors. Additionally, Riot Games agreed to implement three years of oversight at the company and appoint an independent third-party monitor to check compliance. It will also hire up to 40 of its qualified female temporary workers for full-time roles in its engineering, art design and quality assurance departments.
