Calian Group Ltd. (TSX: CGY) reported revenue rose 9.0% in its fiscal third quarter ended June 30. The company last year ranked No. 17 on SIA’s list of largest Canadian staffing firms. Revenue growth came in the company’s business segment that includes staffing.

The Ottawa-based firm reports revenue in two segments: “Business and technology services” and “systems engineering.”
The business and technology services segment includes staffing and other services, and revenue in the segment rose 12.6%. Systems engineering includes engineering services.

Calian also announced Thursday that it acquired Priority One, a firm based in Calgary that conducts psychological assessments for law enforcement agencies. Priority one has annual revenue of approximately C$2 million. It will be included in the business and technology services segment.

Shares in Calian fell 0.27% as of 12:16 p.m. Eastern time to C$33.22. The company had a market cap of C$257.6 million.
