July 25, 2022

A subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Co. used underage workers at a parts manufacturing facility in Alabama, Reuters reported. Sources were cited as police, a family of three underage workers and eight former and current employees. In a statement to Reuters, Hyundai said it does not tolerate illegal employment practices and has processes in place to comply with laws. In addition, the subsidiary denied allegations of knowingly employing anybody ineligible to work and said it relies on staffing firms to fill jobs. The staffing firms are expected to comply with the law.
