Recruiting software provider gr8 People announced an $8 million Series B financing round led by Boston-based Ascent Venture Partners, with continued participation from Delancey Street Partners and Randstad Holding nv’s Randstad Innovation Fund.

This round brings gr8 People’s total funding to date to $14 million. Its platform provides CRM, recruitment marketing, hiring and onboarding together. gr8 People was founded in 2009 by CEO Diane Smith and COO Jayne Kettles; the entrepreneurs previously founded VirtualEdge Corp., which was acquired by Automated Data Processing Inc. (NASD: ADP) in 2006.

The software firm’s customers include Talbots, Teradata, NBCUniversal, Netflix, Randstad UK and others.
